The Ruffle Top

For those of you that share my love for the ruffle style seen this season, I love the style in the basic t-shirt like this and this one. My top is from H&M and not available online, but I found it in store for only $10. This ruffle style will still transition perfectly into fall paired with some great skinny jeans (like these or these) but also with a denim mini skirt and knee-high boots. If you’re interested in other sleeve length options- I’ve linked short sleeve, 3/4 length, and long sleeve options below for under $100. Marbled rose sunglasses found here for only $15. Skirt, sold out (Astr). Pearl sandals by Zara, no longer available but similar found here.

Watch Style // Marble Print

This marble print watch is just beautiful and so unique. I have found this watch to fit just perfectly, unlike with other brands where my wrist is on the smaller side and the strap and face can overwhelm my wrist (and weigh me down!). There is also a version with a soft gray strap which can be found here. I love that the Cluse brand also offers petite versions for those of you with smaller wrists or just looking for a watch with a smaller face. My favorite thing about this watch is the genuine marble, which means that each face is unique due to the veins of the marble.

Classic Button Down Shirt Dresses

A classic button down shirt dress can go a long way through every season. This classic style can transition from a hot summer day (depending on the fabric) to a cool fall afternoon paired with a denim jacket or blazer. My dress is old (Banana Republic) but other similar options found here and here. Tropical print scarf (found here). Small ark bag (found here).

Pool Days // Pom Dresses

This pom dress is under $50 and just perfect for summer pool or beach days! It’s actually a high quality and runs a little loose in size (I’m wearing a S). It can be worn off the shoulder or on the shoulder (great for church!). I also love this option in a beautiful light blue, with white pom poms.

The Perfect White Summer Dress

This white maxi dress is just gorgeous with the intricate cut-outs and tassel details. It looks and feels like such a high quality dress but is such a steal for under $100. I’m wearing a S and using the belt to define my waistline, the dress doesn’t overwhelm me as much as I was afraid it would. This is perfect also for hiding a belly and it’s so forgiving. Small ark bag, by Cult Gaia (found here). Brown block heel sandals, by Sam Edelman (found here). Sunglasses, by Karen Walker.

Summer Block Heels

I’m all about block heels this summer and this pair from Sam Edelman is so comfortable. During summer, I try to change it up and wear a little more tan and brown colors because sometimes black feels so dark especially with summer whites. But, these sandals do also come in black and can be found here. These sandals will also transition easily to fall, paired with some great skinny jeans! Dress is from Storets. I’ve linked more block heel options below:

New Favorite Red Lipstick

I have always had trouble finding the right red lipstick and truthfully, I took a chance and bought this Tarte lipstick in ‘Escape’ (a rose color) mostly because I loved the design and beauty of the tube. I’d pretty much buy almost anything with a gorgeous marbled design! With my yellow/olive skin tone, most red lipsticks tend to have too much of a pink tone. This lip color has such a subtle hint of pink, but wears as a deeper red that doesn’t clash with my skin tone. I also love a beautiful lip color because when you’re in a hurry to get ready, it can really pull a look together quickly (like heading out for date night after a long day at work). And if any of you are like me, sometimes a bold lipstick (especially red!) can be a little overwhelming or terrifying and this lipstick has just enough hint of a pink tone that isn’t an in-your-face Gwen Stefani type of red (which is incredible, but can be hard to pull off). For a similar shade in a lip gloss, which isn’t as scary or committing as a matte lip- I like this lip serum in the shade ‘Love’.

Summer Style on a Budget // Ruffled Wrap Dress

Ruffle dress for the girl on a budget

This wrap dress from Forever 21 is just amazing and such a steal at only $35. It runs fairly true to size (I’m wearing a size S) but with enough room to range from sizes probably 0-4 due to the wrap style. It isn’t see through at all, and is light and comfortable enough for the hot summer days. Bag, Cult Gaia (found here). White sandals, Sam Edelman (sold out; but similar found herehere, and here for under $80).

OOTD // Off-Shoulder Striped Tops

My breezy off-shoulder, tie sleeve black/white striped top (old, Chicwish; similar version found here). I love off-shoulder tops for summer because it’s usually so hot out and it allows you to get some sun on those shoulders to get rid of those swim suit lines. Black scallop hem shorts (J. Crew, no longer available; but similar and cheaper versions found herehere or here). Bag, (Gucci, found here). Sandals (Sam Edelman, no longer available; but love these in black or in brown which are similar and a great Hermes dupe).

For more scallop hem pieces, see older post.
