I’ve heard so many great things about Charleston, South Carolina from friends and family. I expected it to be a beautiful city but didn’t expect to completely fall in love with it, which I did. It has such a wonderful city feel with the southern hospitality and charm. I haven’t seen such beautiful courtyards since my Italy trip. I also loved how nice, friendly and helpful everyone was.
The Battery Park area has such beautiful homes to look at and neighborhoods to explore. I love looking at the architecture of the mansions.
We got to explore the Charleston City Market, which was so much fun. I love to support local businesses and individuals, and this market was full of both. The market was a perfect place to find unique gifts to take home.
I also couldn’t leave Charleston without seeing Boone Hall Plantation, but we also got to experience part of the 2016 Scottish Games Festival.
We had dinner at the beautiful Plantation Grill downtown. The food was incredible and I had the most delicious ceviche. I met a woman who said this restaurant has the best scallops she’s ever had in her life! Breakfast was at Another Broken Egg Cafe, where I had this delectable crab meat eggs benedict, which I would highly recommend. There are so many incredible restaurants to try, but I was unfortunately only in town for a couple days. This city is definitely on my return list. I can’t wait to return for a longer stay next time and to explore more of everything Charleston has to offer.
